I'm thinking about taking a little break - I should try to get some other stuff done with my free time. Won't be quitting though....

Probably won't be able to talk myself into the break though - too addictive!

Staying.

I've been around since right after beta, when the gwen torch was the talk of the town. I still remember pre-sear and thinking I was halfway through the game when it was over. If I could go back to being a noob, I definitely would.

Granted Guildwars changed alot since I first started. With the nerfs, I've never really had a problem with them and don't understand why they piss people off so much.

In the cases with games like diablo 2, you can't go back and reset your character once something has been changed. Hard forged hammerdins after a nerf were brutalized to near uselessness after a nerf.

The dynamics of guildwars is much different. Yes things are nerfed and changed, but people don't see that their character has the ability to change and adapt to almost any situation. You can alway change secondary and you have hundreds of skills you can choose from on the fly.

The metagame of guild wars changes so rapidly. Nerfs shouldn't be such a big deal because even massive nerfs don't render a character useless. You always have the options of changing to a mesmer secondary or moving more points into curses.

The problem in seeing is people getting so attached to cookie cutter builds that have a known edge and getting furious when those builds are changed.

To me it's these changes that make guildwars a good game. I'm staying around because no matter how much I play, I can never really say I'll be able to fully master an elementalist. Things will change, like AoE or Global Armor... but these new things just force me to look into a new prospect of building for my character and adapt to use skill that I thought might not have been too good in the past.

I'm glad things are changing, because for awhile I was pretty bored. Guildwars isnt the usual grinder and I think it kind of earns itself a place in this unique category of being an RPG but a highly competitive game at the same time.

My only complaint is some cheeziness in cutscenes and the story, but It really doesn't bug me that much. The fact that this game changes alot is what keeps me playing. I even remember logging on and seeing all these green weapons. Then people started talking about sorrow furnace and I was just lost...

I'm glad to see the developers are putting alot of effort in keeping things alive with continual balances, additions, festivals, and whatnot. I'll let guildwars dust on the shelves when they start doing the same on their side.

I would say the world in this game is very much still alive. I've played Luna for a loonngg time, and still remember the first GvG I saw that really made me want to play an ele. Even just struggling to master one class leaves me with alot to do.

As long as there is alot of motion going on it doesn't make any sense to quit now. I still have a ton of skills to get.

E > Mastered
E/mo > Mastered
E/Me > Mastered
E/Rt > Work in progress...

All this time playing since post beta and I can still barely say im a damn good ele. Wouldn't be fair to Luna to quit now, I'm almost to the point of being able to torch everything with her.... god and now I have a monk to work on too...

Mo > dammit too much to do..

been around from the start of release of GW:P
starting to "feel" the effects of "repititiveness" (if that is even a word), factions was a diversion but not a saviour.

staying for now, but we'll see.

Staying.

If I get bored from playing PvE, I can always go do ABs or other PvP things. If I get bored playing one character, I've got 4 others that I can switch to.
If I get tired of playing in Tyria, I can go to Cantha. If I get tired of both places, I've got a pre-searing character I can goof aroud with & help new players out with.

Taking breaks helps me to continue and to stay in game.... and that helps me to go to my work too instead being always in front of GW screen (become an addict but I can control it now).

in all, Take breaks.

kind of disappointment in GWF and consider other MMORPGs
waiting for review and feed back once GW3 will be released
then I will make my decision to buy GW3 to continue
That mean I WON'T pre-order GW3, and I will wait for the review and feed back from GW fansites....

P.S. time to try out Oblivion
